Born in 1985 in Bonn, West Germany to a Kenyan mother and German father, I was raised beneath the tall, tall trees of Nairobi.

Multi-disciplinary, I work in various artistic and spiritual disciplines.

Primarily a filmmaker, actress, yoga teacher, astrologer and psychic medium, in all I do, I am inspired to explore, express and honour all facets of existence.

In my film work, I am best known for short film, Seeds (Ecumenical Jury Prize, Internationale Kurzfilmtage Oberhausen 2017) and feature documentary, New Moon (Best Documentary, DIFF 2018).

I work in other realms too; photography, mixed media and performance. I also teach, coach, officiate weddings and funerals, DJ, curate events and teach yoga.

I have lived in France, Germany, Senegal, South Africa, the Netherlands, Ethiopia, England, Belgium and Kenya.  You can learn more about my multi-disciplinary practice on Katarina Hedrén’s podcast interview of me for Cinedb and watch Prof. Lindiwe Dovey’s interview of my artistic practice.

My mother said
on the beach she was born I was born
grey it was
at dawn it was
alone she was

‘Our blood is in the sea’ she said

‘The sea was the first to see us
and so the sea will be the last to leave us’.

She washed us in its salty tears

- Seeds (2017)
